Stephanie Black, BA Honours, Principal
Marketing, Communications and Media Relations

Stephanie Black has joined EC Murphy Walsh as a Principal for Marketing, Communications, and Media Relations. In addition, she provides media training to clients for ongoing media relations, as well as crisis communication.

Stephanie Black is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies to build client profile, reputation and brand awareness with key stakeholders.

Stephanie holds an Honours BA degree in English and Drama from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. She has also pursued studies in leadership effectiveness at Queen’s University and Ryerson University. She was selected by St. Peter’s Health System to represent the system as a “star leader” in the Bay Area Leadership Initiative, Hamilton. She was nominated for a City of Hamilton “Women in the Workplace Award” by her St. Peter’s colleagues.

Prior to joining EC Murphy Walsh, Stephanie Black served as Vice-President, Communications and Marketing for St. Peter’s Health System. She was responsible for leading all communication and fundraising efforts, including media relations, implementing strategies to raise community awareness, marketing of services, branding and recognition, liaising with community partners, developing partnerships with other health care organizations and associations, overseeing special events, coordinating fundraising campaigns, planned giving, liaising with donors, and planning the overall strategic direction of the department in support of the vision of St. Peter’s Health System. Stephanie produced and co-hosted a weekly radio show, alternately with Brad Clark and Grant Walsh, and produced a magazine for community awareness, fund raising and marketing.

Stephanie’s background, before healthcare, was in television. She was a Producer, Reporter, and Anchor for the Global Television Network in Toronto. The death of her 40-year-old aunt, in palliative care at St. Peter’s, caused Stephanie to commit her many talents to healthcare and wellness. We are delighted to offer the many skills of Stephanie Black to the clients of EC Murphy Walsh.
